A HISTORY THAT LASTS

For almost 40 years in Monaco

The Sans Souci is an institution much appreciated by Monegasque residents and passing visitors who have been frequenting it for more than four decades. A great longevity for a restaurant that has known four families of owners since its creation.

The establishment has been run since 2011 by the “La Guardia” group, which owns several restaurants in the Principality. (Bella Vita, the Jack and Pulcinella)

The master of the place, Massimo Dario La Guardia is a figure in the Monegasque gastronomic landscape. He was not, however, destined to make a career in the restaurant business! Massimo Dario was indeed an opera singer and this recognized tenor was decorated with the Order of the Star of Italy.

His great passion for Italian cuisine has led him to manage a great business, accompanied by his son, a chef. The best example is the Vecchia Firenze, which they held with great success from 1994 to 2010.

Le Sans Souci is one of those authentic and timeless tables that are perpetuated over the years without taking a wrinkle! The La Guardia family took over the torch more than 12 years ago, relying on a loyal and stable team, as evidenced by the constancy of certain staff members, dedicated for more than 20 years!

Thus continues the saga of this generous table which evokes authenticity and a return to Italian roots.

A traditional and cozy setting

The Sans Souci is nestled in the heart of Monaco, sporting a beautiful airy terrace away from the road, well insulated by a thick hedge.

The atmosphere of the two interior rooms is more subdued; the wood paneling on the walls, the nicely set upholstered tables, give the setting an elegant and subdued style. The atmosphere is warm, conducive to sharing a good meal with friends, in complete privacy.
